「世の愚か者どもは、恵方を拝んで、とそを飲み、長寿・子孫繁栄を祝って浮かれているが、元旦はそんな暢気（のんき）なものではなく、年の初めに一年の事をじっくり考える。
それが本当の祝いというものである。」
